Untimely death! The dog knows it, the owl
predicts it; even the cat flaps an ear
in its sleep, but you
know nothing about it, laid there as if.
Did the crossword, picked a scab,

deal is, why you
crapped out – like a bulb
in the toilet, like a whore
to your job, your
situation.
don’t know Craven. i see she has a couple of ‘owl’ titles
grazie mille. i think the opening phrase comes from king lear. i never bothered to check. there might be something of macbeth too – the intuition of beasts etc. saw my 1st owl two months ago – in the wild, in the flesh, btw.
Love the hard ‘bite-down’ in this Marco & the flapping cat ear in sleep, the ‘predictive’ owl (reminding me the novel by Margaret Craven).
