Something was unseen, and no-one knew it was there.
Peoples continued their existence without it, as they didn’t know it existed.
Sometimes, they were very close to it and had no inkling of its’ prescience.
It was maybe behind the wall, under the earth, beneath the floorboards,
Behind the Stars, within a tree, deep where the night was darkest;
It made no noise to hear, it had no outlines visible, it had not been discovered,
It was far away.
The perceptive had not perceived its’ presence, the Seers had not seen it.
The hearing had not heard, nor the sensitive felt it.
Many enquiries hadn’t suggested its’ existence, and the dreamers had not yet dreamed of it.
Another thing was known by all. Everyone knew where it was located, they knew of its shape
and size, they all knew what it looked like and how it felt. Also, they were sure of its purpose.
The thing was handled every day and those who handled it recognised its’ usefulness and in
So using it, considered it commonplace. So accustomed were they to its subject and reason that
They thought not of ever being without it in their lives.
It had a firm place in their minds.
These two things were very close to each-other and may have been the very same thing.
